Here are some links to get started with iPhone game programming:
- Brandon Trebitowsky at http://icodeblog.com/ has nice tutorials on Game Programming using the UIImage. Following the first two-parts of the tutorial, you can build a nice pong-like game. He also has sections for iPhone general programming, in case you’re interested in that sort of thing — of course you do, why wouldn’t you?
- Mike at 712 has a nice video tutorial on creating games using OpenGL ES. http://www.71squared.co.uk/2009/03/iphone-game-programming-tutorial-1/
- Crash Landing is a simple game example created by Apple. It demonstrated the use of OpenGL ES. The source is no longer available on Apple’s website. I found it here, at 712.
- Cocos2D is a library for building games that was initially coded in Phyton. You can download it at http://code.google.com/p/cocos2d-iphone/. There are also some tutorials on this site.
- Oolong Engine is another game engine, geared towards 3D-games, for iPhone, which is available at http://www.oolongengine.com/
- FairLady Media has good tips on creating iPhone graphics.
